Day 1 Arrival Hanoi (D)
Transfer via: International Flight on your own arrangement
Leave Home flying to Vietnam with teachers, upon arrival at Noi Bai airport, you will be welcome by a guide from Green Trail Tours and transferred to our hotel in the center of Hanoi. Once there we will be at our leisure and have time to relax. In the evening we will dine on wonderful Vietnamese cuisine at a fine restaurant in Saigon. We will then spend the night at the hotel.

Day 2 Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)
This morning, after a sumptuous breakfast, we will leave for Halong Bay. We will pass the lust green field in the Red River delta to the coast and the wonderful Ha Long bay which named as the ascending dragon. Arriving at the Halong Bay Wharf at around lunch time, we transfer from our vehicle to our deluxe junk, join our fantastic seafood lunch, and cruise around this tranquil bay, marvel at 3000 limestone peaks that emerge from the emerald water. We have opportunity to visit spectacular Amazing cave crammed with stalactites and stalagmites and kayak in this Natural Wonder of the World; and if the weather permits we will swim from our boat. After our delicious dinner we will join together with and may drink Vietnamese wine and chatting. Spending the night on the junk.

Day 3 Halong Bay - Hanoi (B, L, D)
Today after breakfast, we or relax on the junk or keep on kayaking one or two hours more. Around 10:00 we pack our luggage and take out of our cabin (for crew members prepare rooms for coming passengers). Our lunch today will be served sooner than usual as we will return to the main harbor at around midday. We then transfer to our awaiting vehicle for around 4 hour driving back to Hanoi. We will be back our capital city at about 04: 00 PM. We have some free time in the afternoon to do shopping in town.

Day 4 Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
Our second fun-filled day in Hanoi will begin very early (5:30am) for those who are interested and will involve a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, to see morning culture of Hanoian, will be followed by coffee or a cold drink at a local café. After this we will return to the Hotel for breakfast and to re-unite with the rest of the group. After breakfast we will visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and then transfer to temple of literature. Lunch today will be at K.O.T.O restaurant. After lunch we will embark on a one hour cyclo ride around the old quarter. The old quarter was once the heart of Hanoi and is still an unbelievable sensory overload; its bustling functionality will astound all first time visitors. Following this we visit the infamous Hanoi ‘Hilton’ prison and then head back to our Hotel to get ready for an early dinner. After dinner we will watch a Water Puppet show and then head back to the hotel.

Day 5 Hanoi flight to Hue (B, D)
Today we check out of the Flower Garden Hotel and catch an afternoon flight to Hue. We will arrive in Hue in the afternoon and after we check-in to our Hotel will head off for an afternoon of sightseeing around Hue. Included in our sightseeing is a majestic boat trip along the Perfume River.

Day 6 Explore Hue (B, D)

Today is all about un-winding and relaxing. After a hectic first three days our group will have a day of leisure in our magnificent 5 star resort. Some may choose to swim and lay by the pool, others will enjoy organized games of beach cricket, volleyball or football and for the gym-junkies a workout in the gymnasium may be more to your liking.

Day 7 Hue - Hoi An (B, L, D)
Sites visited: Cham Museum, China Beach, Marble Mountain
After breakfast at the hotel, we travel by vehicle to Hoi An along scenic highway 1A. Along the way we will stop to contemplate the stunning views north, to Lang Co Beach and South to Da Nang city. Da Nang city with Cham Museum, China Beach – where the American named and used to have their Rest and Relaxation; and the Marble Mountain – the five elements of the Universe (water, wood, water, fire and earth). We will arrive in Hoi An in the afternoon, relax and take our walking tour before our Dinner. Overnight at hotel in Hoi An.

Day 8 In Hoi An Cooking Class (B, D)
This morning after breakfast we will head into Hoi An town for some shopping and to pick up any garments which some of us may have had tailored during our stay. The afternoon will be at leisure in the Resort before we get ready and head off for a fantastic evening meal.

Day 9 Hoi An (B, D)
We have an early start today and after breakfast will make our way into Hoi An town to Hai Scout Cafe. After a welcome drink, we will visit Hoi An’s colorful market to experience the sights, sounds and aromas of this amazing place. During our market experience we will have the opportunity to interact with local sellers and purchase some of the ingredients to be used in our impending cooking lesson. After that we board a private boat for a leisurely cruise along the Thu Bon River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. The boat cruise is a great chance to view local river life so ensure that your camera is at hand!! Upon arrival we explore the cooking school’s herb and vegetable garden before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s most well-known dishes. We then begin to cook!! The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours with each dish first being demonstrated by the Red Bridge’s master Chef before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving and plate decoration. After the lesson we will sit down and enjoy what we have just prepared for lunch. After lunch we will transfer back to central Hoi An for some free time.

Day 10 Hoi An - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City (B, D)
This morning we will transfer to Da Nang airport for our flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). After checking into our accommodation we will begin our sightseeing around Vietnam’s largest and busiest city. We will start with the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral which was built between 1886-1890 and the French style central post office. After lunch (which today can be an Oak hill favorite – KFC!!) we will visit the former Presidential Palace and War Remnants Museum. After this we will wander through the Binh Tay Market. We will then make our way back to the Hotel to prepare for dinner.

Day 11 Cu Chi tunnels (B, L)
In the morning we will depart for the Cu Chi tunnels which are located 70 kilometers to the northwest of Saigon near the so-called ‘Iron-Triangle’. The tunnels began in 1948 so the Viet Minh could hide from French air and ground sweeps and by 1965 there were over 200 kilometers of connected tunnels. On our way to Cu Chi we will drive through pleasant countryside; rubber plantations and rice paddies. Upon arrival and before entering the tunnels, we will see a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. Following this we will begin our exploration of the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. Also on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those who are interested you may also decide to fire off some rounds, at targets, from the various guns which are available (at a cost of $1 US per bullet!); examples include the American made M-16 or the Russian AK47. Once we are finished at Cu-Chi we will head off for a magnificent lunch and then head back to the Hotel.

Day 12 Ho Chi Minh City departure back home (B)

Enjoy some leisure time in Ho Chi Minh City in order to do some last minute shopping. Transfer to airport for our departure flight home.
