Follow the Mekong River as you cycle along its most scenic routes from Phnom Penh through the Silk Islands to Kratie and the 100-Pillar Pagoda and along the Dolphins Trail to Stung Treng.
Day 1:  Depart Phnom Penh through the Four Rivers by ferry, cycle up the quiet East Bank of the Mekong, cross by ferry again to the Silk Islands and cycle the across two islands, making excursions at silk weaving villages, pagodas, a floating village and farms en route. Enjoy a picnic lunch and swimming at a sandy island beach before continuing by car. Arrive at Kratie, a French colonial town, just in time to watch the sunset over the Mekong. Overnight at a riverside hotel (a/c, hot water). Cycling: 25 km.

Day 2:  Begin cycling north along a scenic river route through farms and villages, stopping to visit Sambok Mountain before arriving at the 100 Pillars Pagoda where we will explore the renowned pilgrimage site before crossing to an island by boat at a scenic area of the Mekong River. After lunch on the island, transfer by car to a primary forest eco-tourism site where we will stay in a village home stay (basic facilities) and enjoy Khmer hospitality. Cycling: 35 km.

Day 3: Wake early to explore the old growth forest trails and scenic creeks and rapids winding through the jungle by the home stay site. Afterwards, transfer by car along a forest trail to a deep dolphin pool on the Mekong where we will have lunch and watch the rare Mekong River Dolphins. From there, cycle north along a scenic river route, passing through quiet villages and watching local river life and fishing until arriving at Stung Treng. Arrive at a scenic nature lodge in time to watch the sunset over the Mekong River from the lodge restaurant veranda or from your private balcony. Cycling: 35 km.

Day 4: Awake to the sounds of birds at the nature lodge. Cycle along a trail through the south end of the Mekong Wetlands before cutting to the highway and transferring by car to Laos (4000 Islands). Optional: Boat trip through the Mekong Wetlands to Laos. Cycling: 5 km.
